How to Choose Your Practitioner
At Energy Matters, we do things a bit differently than other acupuncture clinics. We are a group practice. Some of us are primary care practitioners with areas of specialization, others of us are specialists only. We consult with and refer to each other as needed, in order to give our patients the best possible care. Rather than being good at treating everything, each of us excels at treating a number of issues, and we get to draw on each others expertise. This differs from most clinic with solo practitioners who, by necessity, must treat most every condition.
- First, consider your goals in seeking treatment. If you have a single primary issue that you are looking to resolve – “I just wish my shoulder pain would go away”; “I am tired of having painful periods every month”; “If it weren’t for this acid reflux, I would be fine”, and one of our practitioners specializes in that issue, make your initial appointment with her.
- If you have a number of health complaints, or one not listed under specialties, make your appointment with Angela Coon or Prajna Choudhury, our Primary Care practitioners. While each of them has their areas of specialization, they are the practitioners who are going to hold the big picture of your health care needs, over the various arcs of healing. Read their profiles, consider their subspecialties and look at their schedules in deciding who to work with.
- Alternately, you can call our front desk staff, who will guide your through the selection process, or ask to speak to our Clinic Manager.
